About our Talent Competition & Dinner Show events
It is a communal fun activity where everyone can join to have fun while enjoying the best Chinese food in town at Kim Fung restaurant Chinatown. At the same time, we help people in need in our communities by donating the proceeds to local charity groups. Hidden local talents gather and compete for cash prices. Whether you are good at it or not does not matter much. It is just about having fun with what you do to enjoy yourself in your free time and sharing it with a friendly and supportive group of people in our communities. Competitors must register using the link provided in this page in order to compete. Spectators can purchase tickets in advance from the organiser. All are welcome! More details below:

Hostess of the event – Elspeth Wright
Originally from New Brunswick, Elspeth Wright has been taking the Montreal comedy scene by storm since 2019. In 2021, she was featured on the Just for Laughs Originals album “Woof Means Woof”, as well as recording a set at ZooFest’s “Discovery Series” show. Elspeth has been named the comedian “Set to Soar” by the Montreal Gazette, and her show Battle of Wits was voted the “Best Comedy Night” in Montreal in Cult MTL’s Reader’s poll. In May, she will be making her television debut as part of the Halifax Comedy Festival. Elspeth can be heard on Sirius XM and as a regular guest on CBC Radio
Guest artist performance – Eva Angel-Fox
Singer/songwriter and full-time university student. Originally from out West, Eva began recording music at age 16 and now regularly performs in Montreal. While she prefers to define her music by a single genre, she finds inspiration in Blues, Old-Time Country and Bluegrass music. You can find her music on all streaming platforms and follow her on Instagram @evaangelfox.
Competitors:
- Performance choices: Any form of entertainment, e.g., Singing, Dancing, Stand-up comedy, etc. Must be PG rated. Singing in any language allowed
- Prizes: $250 (1st), $150 (2nd) & $75 (3rd)
- Suggested duration of each act: 4 min*
- Fees: $20 (Solo), $35 (Duet), $45 (Trio) with $5 discount / team for student(s)**
- Eligibility: No restrictions and open for all
- Max number of competing groups: 25 (First come, first served)

- Important notes: Nudity, obscenity, offensiveness, religeous and political contents are not allowed. The act may be stopped by the organisers if it is deemed as such.
* Duration of act may vary and be determined based on the number of participating teams in each competition. If your act requires more than 4 min, please contact the organising committee with the details of the act.
** Eligibility of being a ‘student’ – Must be a recognized degree program at all levels, i.e., elementary, cegep, college, university, etc. Certificate program not applicable.
Spectators:
$15 per person will be added to the bill of the participants at the checkout, i.e., the actual food bill + $15
